Spiced Crabapples
I made this in 2021 with the first crabapples I picked from a pippin tree that was growing near Eagletree in Casco.
- 2 1/4 C cleaned crabapples (maybe 3/4 lb)
- 5/8 C vinegar -- might as well be cider vinegar
- 3/4 C brown sugar
- 1/2 t whole cloves
- 1/2 t allspice berries
Mix all ingredients and bring to a boil.
Simmer until apples are tender.
Put in clean, sterilized half-pint jars and seal.
