Oatmeal Bread

When I was a kid, my mother occasionally used to make oatmeal bread. I loved it. I've never found a recipe that was anywhere near as good as my memory of her bread. This isn't bad.

NOTE! The recipe as given here only makes one loaf. It's a nice high loaf, though.

Dissolve yeast and brown sugar in lukewarm milk. Add molasses. Add 2 C flour, mix well, and let stand about an hour or until good and bubbly (whichever comes first.)

Add melted butter, rolled oats, salt, and the remaining flour. Knead, let rise, punch down, form one loaf, let rise, and bake at 350 degrees 35 to 40 minutes.
