Gingerbread Cookies
This recipe was on the tag of a gingerbread boy cookie cutter from Ann Clark Cookie Cutters. It's safe to conclude that it's perfect to cut out with their cookie cutters. Note: no eggs! Huh.
- 1 C soft butter
- 1 C sugar
- 1 C molasses
- 5 C flour
- 2 t baking soda
- 3 t ground ginger
- 1 t ground cloves
- 1/2 C cold tea
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
Cream butter and sugar.
Beat in molasses.
Add dry ingredients alternately with tea.
Add vanilla, mix well.
Chill for 24 hours.
Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Cool on wire racks. Decorate or eat just plain.
