Deep Dish Pizza Filling
I haven't used this recipe, but it sounds plausible. This is for one 9- or 10- inch pan.
- 1/3 lb sliced Mozzarella cheese
- 2 C canned plum tomatoes, drained and squished
- 1 t basil
- 1 t oregano
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
- 3 T grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 T olive oil
- salt to taste
- (optional: Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, sweet pepper)
Put Mozzarella cheese on the bottom; next tomatoes; optional ingredients; then basil, oregano, garlic, and salt; sprinkle Parmesan on top.
Bake at 475 degrees until top is golden and gooey and the crust a light golden brown, maybe 35 or 40 minutes.
