Up to Casco

Fed Ex showed up in the first 1/4 of the estimated delivery window with a long carton from Fedco Trees.

I didn’t open it, for several reasons: It was held together with a lot of those ugly huge copper staples;

This small “wonder bar” makes a reasonably good staple remover for them

I was pretty sure what was in it; and in any event we were going to take it with us to Casco. In fact, we had been waiting for it before leaving.

We left a little after noon, stopped at the post office, filled the gas tank, and drove to Bob’s Clam Shack for lunch. It was the first time we’ve eaten AT a restaurant in a year (but with no server in the picture; it was “order and pay at this window, pick up at that window, find an outdoor table far from anyone else.”) Fried fish, French fries, and cole slaw! Hadn’t had any of them in a year.

Arlene suggested stopping at the When Pigs Fly bread store and picking up a couple of loaves. At the checkout she asked me if I had got everything I wanted. I said, “Heck no! I want everything in the store! But this is as much as makes sense!” Kai Ryssdal talks about pent up demand, and I sure could see it in myself.
